THEME: DOMESTIC AFFAIRS takes a contemplative look on the quiet tensions and hidden complexities of everyday life. Through 5 intimate, tender and at times quietly absurd films, this short film programme moves through domestic spaces and relationships – from the weight of the mundane, to grief, desire and memory.

A series of accidents plunges villagers into a web of guilt and shame. While three young men stage a car accident, animals on a pig farm suffocate and schoolchildren become caught in a dangerous game—until an unexpected fire remains without a clear cause.

In a small seaside house, Akylas, a retired and solitary man, spends his final summer days in quiet isolation, silencing insects and shutting out the world. When he discovers a wounded cicada, he is drawn into an unexpected act of care that slowly reconnects him to life beyond his boundaries.
